Rhythm

What is rhythm? Rhythm is defined as a repeated pattern of movement or sound. But I have always just called it the "beat" to music.

The video:

1. What do you like about the way she presented the information? Why?

I like how she broke the definition down and used her own rhythm to explain the definition. I feel as if this helps for better understanding of what rhythm truly is.

2. What do you dislike about the way she presented information? Why?

I disliked how during the presentation, now granted I don't know if there is a real classroom in there or not but if so, I would have had them clap along. Just for a better depth of knowledge and to actively involve them so it doesn't look like she is just lecturing.

3. Is this an example of good teaching? Why do you think so?

I think certain parts of the video are good examples, like the multiple whiteboards and how she breaks everything down and demonstrates the rhythm herself with her own beat she claps out.

4. How many different ways did she present the information? Why do you think this is important?
She used a variety of definitions, a visual storyboard, and clapping. I believe this is important because it does differentiate instruction in the classroom and reaches out to the auditory, visual and kinesthetic learner.

  1. Miss Taylor used many methods that all Elementary majors can use everyday in the classroom. They were simple, yet the students can still be focused on what she was teaching. Perfect for a teacher who might be on a budget!

  2. I also thought her usage of the multiple boards were good. It was a good way for everyone to follow along and see what she was talking about.
